What springs to mind when you think about the iD Auditions? I would certainly say they are, entertaining, very unpredictable, highly competitive and a great deal of fun!

It goes without saying that people in their nature are incredibly diverse, making each audition totally unique. Statistics tells us that people naturally mould their perception of an individual and their surroundings within the first 7 seconds! So you can only imagine how much this intensifies in an atmosphere where people are creating their own first impressions as soon as they get through the door.... AND yes, first impressions do count within the wonderful world of Experiential which is why we go to great lengths to find the best possible staff through our auditions process.

So what to expect?
Picture the scene...imagine a bright colourful room full of potential wannabe iDOLS each equipped with wild outfits, props, full of laughter, smiles, music and a general buzzing hum of elusive noise! It’s just impossible to be in this kind of environment and not feel the energy and anticipation of what will happen next. The Auditions are totally unpredictable, which keeps everyone on their toes, including us!

Why stand out from the crowd?
We live in a fast paced world, surrounded by media and advertising; hence why we can at times become blind and desensitized to it all! This is why we search for those individuals that can stand out in the crowd and who have the capability to stop people in their tracks. Our auditions process is a brilliant way to discover these individuals. With around 300 candidates together in one room, if you don’t stand out from the start then unfortunately its curtains in the first round… competition is incredibly high, but someone with a winning smile can often be picked up from 30 feet away!

What really triggers someone to remember you?
You would have to start by hitting one or preferably ALL of the 5 senses!! We hire iDOLS to be the face of a brand using Experiential techniques that consumers will remember the most!

We get a whole variety of candidates arrive on the day, from reality celebrities to singers, dancers, fire blowers, natural performers and risk takers who literally can't wait for the next chance to shine and prove themselves. The joys are priceless!!!

It's equally inspiring to see the candidates that patiently wait their turn, a few handpicked deep in the crowd that have something approachable about their character making them unique and stand out, even though they're not as extravert as the some of the performers.

The outcome of the audition always comes down to character; successful iDol’s always have something (that may intangible) that makes them stand out from the crowd.
